Silver State Charter Schools
The Silver State High School (SSHS) is a free online charter school serving Douglas, Washoe, Churchill, and Storey counties, located in the US state of Nevada. It serves students from grades 7-12 (and technically is split into a middle school and high school).
The school had 459 students in the 2009-2010 year.
There is a blended component to the SSHS programme, as students attend classes in person once per week to meet with their teachers, and then do class work online.
Learning is provided via eCollege; students are encouraged to phone or contact their teachers using instant messaging during the day and into the early evening whenever they need help.
