Arkansas Virtual High School
The Arkansas Virtual High School (AVHS) is a pilot project funded by the Arkansas Department of Education. It is located in the US state of Arkansas. Education targets high-school-aged students. AVHS is not authorized to grant diplomas, but rather offer supplemental instruction. Each participating school district must enroll its students. Courses are asynchronous.
The purpose of the Arkansas Virtual High School is to provide an online alternative learning environment for the students of Arkansas' public schools who need assistance in completing coursework due to schedule conflicts and other factors that might impede a student's progress through grades 9-12. Courses are available to any private or public school student that is a resident in an affiliated school district.
