Key responsibilities: Deputy Project Manager [Sero] and Finance Manager ; survey instrument design; lead writer for final report Experience: Extensive experience in the design and implementation of research programmes - nationally and regionally – to measure the impact of ICT in education and of digital inclusion strategies. The design and implementation of benchmarking of ICT adoption, use and e-learning both nationally and internationally. Giles has undertaken international and national desk-research programmes for Government Agencies and regularly prepares and delivers publication-standard, written reports on all research programmes and gives presentations using appropriate technologies and/or facilitate workshops for policymakers and practitioners.


Giles Pepler is Senior Consultant at Sero Consultant. He managed Sero's 2007 study of e-maturity in Scotland’s Colleges for the Scottish Funding Council - see http://www.sero.co.uk/sfc.html. Currently he is responsible for the annual survey of ICT in education at Further Education colleges in England; and he has also undertaken two evaluations of Objective 1 family e-learning projects in two Yorkshire local authorities. He has been Principal of 3 further education colleges – an urban tertiary college, plus a suburban and a multi-ethnic urban sixth form college. From 1992 to 1995 he worked as an education management consultant, including at KPMG. He has worked with Paul Bacsich on benchmarking and Critical Success Factors.
