Niall Sclater is Director of the VLE Programme at the UK Open University.
Before coming to the UKOU, he was Head of e-Learning and Assistant Director of Learning Services at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He had been involved in the research, development and implementation of learning technology at Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities since 1990. He co-founded and managed the Clyde Virtual University and the Scottish Computer Assisted Assessment Network and founded the Technologies for Online Interoperable Assessment project, which built an e-assessment system now in use at universities and colleges throughout the UK.
