The Autonomous University of Asunción or (Universidad Autónoma de Asunción, UAA). It was funded in 1978 as a college of business management, but in 1991 got the title of University. It’s located in Paraguay.

The mission of the UAA, is clearly based on its core ideology, as expressed by its definition:

"the advancement, transfer, preservation and application of knowledge to achieve excellence in the training of professionals to help improve the quality of life in society.

To achieve the mission they have developed a department of distance learning. It is the first university in Paraguay that offers this service. We can see that is a new method of teaching in Paraguay, nowadays they offer only 4 bachelor programmes through distance learning, these are management, accountancy, IT sciences and law.

The students of this methodology have to do the final exams in the university. There are several tools and methods to keep in touch with the teacher: e-mail, telephone, post, chat and e-campus.
