Albert Sangrà is the Academic Director at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and is responsible for the application of new technologies. He is also a senior consultant in various distance learning projects in Europe, America and Asia. Albert Sangrà was born in Barcelona in 1960. He had got his first degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences (Pedagogy) with a major in Organisation and Educational Technology by the University of Barcelona (1986). He also got a Postgraduate degree in Applications of Information Technology in Open and Distance Education (1999) by the Open University (UK) and a Diploma on Strategic Use of ICT in Education by Harvard University (2000). He has a wide experience in the world of education in Catalonia, teaching at different levels of the Catalan education system (from primary school to university) participating also in different programs for the Catalan government in the educational field.
