Education 2020

The Ministry of Education in Dubai has prepared the document Education 2020, sometimes called Education Vision 2020 or Vision 2020.

Vision 2020 adopts seven strategic themes which serve as basis for all general policies, plans, executive programmes and projects pertaining to educational development in the United Arab Emirates. They are:

1. education as motive for national developments
2. increasing the system's productivity and its cost effectiveness
3. quality and constant development
4. education as an incentive to culture and knowledge
5. flexible and appropriate infrastructure
6. societal partnership, contribution and support
7. restructuring and integrating educational stages.

The Education 2020 Strategy is a series of five-year plans, designed to introduce advanced education techniques and improve innovative skills and the self-learning abilities of students. The Planning, Development and Evaluation Office devises the plans and uses model schools to implement them. The National Centre for the Development of Curriculum and Methodology reviews curricula and developments in educational methodology. All developments take place within the Strategy’s framework.

The Education 2020 strategies seem to pertain only to schools.
