Overview

Madagascar, officially the Republic of Madagascar (Malagasy: Repoblikan'i Madagasikara; French: République de Madagascar), is an island country in the Indian Ocean, off the southeastern coast of Africa. The nation comprises the island of Madagascar (the fourth-largest island in the world), as well as numerous smaller peripheral islands. The capital is Antananarivo and the population is 22,005,222.

The Universite d’Antananarivo in Madagascar was involved with the African Virtual University's Multinational Project, primarily funded from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and partially funded from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Somalia, and implemented in ten countries with 12 institutions. The aim of the project was to collaboratively develop OER and give training and capacity building in ICT.
