The Africa University Virtual Classroom supports online and blended learning. It was born in 1992 as the first private international university in Zimbabwe. It was founded and developed by churches.

This university offers blended studies in collaboration with WIPO Worldwide Academy and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO). For example, for the master's degree in intellectual property, the first part of the degree is taught via distance learning. The other 2 parts will be taught in the university and in the headquarters of ARIPO to practise. They also offer two more online courses: Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration (EMBA) and English as a Second Language (ESL) at Mozambique Satellite Campus.

They use the learning management system Moodle to share the documents with the students.

The virtual classroom has been identified as a provider with interest and/or capability in e-learning in Zimbabwe. See, for example, http://www.africau.ac.zw/index.php?cal_m=10&cal_y=2006 .
