CAP College (CAP College Foundation, Inc., CAP College on the Web; CAPCOW) offers online college courses in the Philippines. It is a private, non-sectarian, distance learning college.

Its mission is "the democratization of higher education opportunities through Digitalized Distance Education" (see http://www.capcow.com/).

Based on the "open university model", its stated objectives are to:

  • Provide opportunities for higher education to persons who cannot go to formal or conventional schools on account of time, distance, finances and other constraints;
  • Develop new non-traditional undergraduate and graduate programs to meet specific needs of government and industry; and
  • Contribute to the development of Distance Education in the Philippines.

Wikipedia notes that students have the option of taking courses online, by mail, or by pick-up of their module packages. Midterm and final examinations are proctored and have to be physically taken on-site

CAP College online is a child of the Filipino "College Assurance Plan" group, a corporate entity involved in education as well as Pension, Distance Learning, Health Maintenance, Life Insurance, Information Technology, Financing, Communications and General Insurance.
