Robert Gordon University
The Robert Gordon University (RGU) is a modern university located in Aberdeen, Scotland. Granted university status in 1992, Robert Gordon University currently has approximately 12,790 students at its two campuses at Garthdee and Schoolhill, studying on over 145 full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The origins of the University date back to 1750, when Robert Gordon's Hospital was established to provide residential education for the sons and grandsons of Aberdeen's burgesses.

Virtual Campus
The RGU: Virtual Campus delivers a state-of-the-art programme of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to a community of learners from around the globe.
The Campus is used not only to deliver online courses to distance learning students, but also to provide support materials to our students attending campus.

TUC project
The Department of eLearning (DeL) has been awarded a grant by the European Social Fund (ESF) to take part in the Trades Union Council's "High Road" project, developing virtual learning environments (VLE) and innovative ICT solutions.
Working within the TUC's development partnership (Equal), the main aim of the project will be to investigate best practice and optimal methodology for delivering online learning and training for the TUC’s identified target participants – namely those engaging in higher-level continuing professional development.

VLE
RGU uses Moodle for both on-campus and distance education.
