The Hellenic Open University (Open University of Greece, HOU), is a multi-school university run by the Greek State. The institution, which is based in Patras, Greece, provides distance education exclusively, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels (though a number of face-to-face 'tutorials' are provided in several regions each year). The exact role of elearning and online materials in particular is not immediately clear.

In 2008, it was estimated that around 25,000 students were registered in the HOU.

The Hellenic Open University was founded in 1992, with the first cohort of students admitted in 1999.
