Saarland is a Region located at 49° 23' 47.12" N, 7° 1' 22.66" E. It is located in Germany.

Overview
Saarland (French: Sarre) is one of the sixteen states of Germany. The capital is Saarbrucken. It has an area of 2570 km² and just under 1 million inhabitants, more exactly 990,718.
In both area and population, it is the smallest state in Germany other than the city-states (Berlin State, Bremen State and Hamburg State).
Its location on the border between France and Germany has given Saarland a unique history. It was the only state to join the Federal Republic of Germany between 1949 and the German reunification in 1990.
