The Arkansas Virtual High School (AVHS) is a pilot project funded by the Arkansas Department of Education. It is a state virtual school located in the US state of Arkansas. Education targets high-school-aged students. Founded in 2000, it had approximately 5,000 high school course enrollments in 2009-10. AVHS is not authorized to grant diplomas, but rather offer supplemental instruction. Each participating school district must enroll its students. Courses are asynchronous.
