The ''Lambrakis Research Foundation'' ('''LRF''') is a non-profit research and development institution of public interest, founded in Athens, in 1991, set up under an initiative taken by Mr Christos Lambrakis, main shareholder and president of the Lambrakis Press Group SA. Education, culture and regional development especially in the new context of the United Europe are the areas which initially drew the interest and resources of LRF. Today, its work draws upon its international expertise and its intensive research and development work in collaboration with prestigious public and private organisations, universities, research institutes and enterprises, in Greece and elsewhere in Europe. Emphasis is given to the challenges presented by the evolving Information Society and in particular the constantly increasing demand for better learning as well as for equal learning opportunities, independently of space, time, economic or other social constraints.
