Vanessa Pittard is Director of Evidence and Evaluation for the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta) in the UK. This has overall responsibility for IT in schools, colleges and the lifelong learning sector.
Earlier in her career she led the ICT research and evaluation team in the DfES (the English government department in overall charge of schools and colleges) and before that was a research student at Sheffield Hallam University.
