The Växjö University (Växjö Universitet, VXU) supports distance learning, but it is unclear which LMS or system they use for it.

The institution’s main office is in Växjö, Sweden. All university buildings are located on one campus in Växjö.

The university offers a wide range of programmes and single subject courses: undergraduate education includes 116 education programmes and supplementary programmes, and more than 1 100 single subject courses in more than 50 subjects. A postgraduate degree is awarded in more than 20 different subjects.

Växjö has a total of 14,000 undergraduates and about 3,000 students at the university are registered for education entailing alternative forms of instruction such as distance learning, evening- and weekend courses. More than 1,000 people are employed as researchers, lecturers and administrators.

The Växjö University web site is at http://www.vxu.se and in English: http://www.vxu.se/english/

The university's Student Portal (Swedish) where a student can find:

  • Course pages with information about the courses or programs that the student is reading or are interested in
  • News from the University, the student union, schools and courses

Distance learning is possible for various courses that are also available for the traditional students. An example is Sustainable energy supply (PDF): for the distance learning version of this course, the written examination will be held as a computer-based examination. The distance-learning course version is offered only in English.
