The Columbia Southern University supports fully online degree education.
Columbia Southern is a privately owned, online-only higher education institution. It was founded in 1993 (and accredited in 2001) and soon became one of the US's first completely online universities, conceived to meet the demand for alternatives to the traditional university experience.
The university offers numerous associate, bachelor, and postgraduate degrees in fields such as fire science, criminal justice and business administration (among others).
There are roughly 17,000 online learners at Columbia Southern as of August 2009, supported by 270 full-time faculty and staff. As noted on the university web site, more than half of students enrolled at CSU are members of the U.S. military.
