The Ministry of Education and Youth (Moldova) is responsible for all levels of education including universities. It has the following Directorates:
- Directorate for pre-university education
- Directorate for professional education
- Directorate for university and post-university education
- Directorate for information and didactic provision of education
- Directorate for youth
- Economic-financial directorate
- Management of human resources directorate
- Directorate for international relations and European integration
- Directorate for policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation
- Directorate for accreditation
Thus accreditation is part of the Ministry.
