Lincoln University was founded in 1992, when it also gained university status and after "Humberside Polytechnic" was renamed to University of Lincolnshire & Humberside. Its history shows the original institution from which the university grew, was Hull School of Art, which opened in 1861 in Hull. In 2001, it was finally renamed to University of Lincoln.


The Lincoln University main office is in Lincolnshire, UK. Other campuses are located in Riseholme, Holbeach and Hull.


Lincoln U has a total number of 9,695 students on campus, 1,107 staff members (academic and supporting staff combined).
