The Pathfinder Programme is a national initiative in England (a home nation of the UK) funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and project managed by the Higher Education Academy (UK) in conjunction with JISC to enhance the e-learning capability of higher education institutions in England.
There is a brief entry on Pathfinder at http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/ourwork/learning/elt/pathfinder but the main information resource is the Pathfinder blog.
See also the entry on the Higher Education Academy wiki for Pathfinder - this is an index page to descriptions of institutions and projects.
Like several other National initiatives, there were two phases of the Pathfinder Programme:
- A pilot phase with 9 institutions - see http://elearning.heacademy.ac.uk/wiki/index.php/Pathfinder_Pilot_Sites
- Phase 1 with 28 institutions - see http://elearning.heacademy.ac.uk/wiki/index.php/Pathfinder_Phase_1_Sites
