The Laureate Education (Laureate Education, Inc.) is an education services company based in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, which owns a number of for-profit colleges and online universities. These include Walden University and numerous other college brands worldwide. The company has campus-based programs in 15 countries and with its online programmes, has more than 215,000 student-customers.

The company began in 1998 as Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc. In 2001 the company purchased 41% of Walden University, gaining a controlling interest in 2002. In 2004, Sylvan Learning Systems became Laureate Education, Inc.
