The Hellenic Open University (Open University of Greece, HOU), is a multi-school university run by the Greek State. The institution, which is based in Patras, Greece, provides distance education exclusively, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In 2008, it was estimated that around 25,000 students were registered in the HOU.
