Drexel Online, a wholly-owned, for-profit subsidiary of Drexel University, provides Internet-based education programmes for working professionals and corporations in the US and abroad. In 2006, Drexel supported 12,900 undergraduates and 7,000 postgraduate and professional students. Of these, 5% of undergraduates and 19% of postgraduates were international students.
Founded in 1891, Drexel was the first major US university to require all students to have their own computers (1983-1984). It offered a fully wireless campus as early as 2000. Drexel’s MBA degree programme has been ranked among the best 25 Online MBA programmes by the US News & World Report.
