The Louisiana Virtual School (LVS) is a US state virtual school founded in 2000. It is based in the state of Louisiana. LVS works with 78 school districts; as with most state virtual schools, all students enroll in LVS through their own school, and receive their diploma locally.
LVS had 14,000 course enrollments from 5,789 students in 2009-10, representing 27% growth since 2008-09. Despite record growth, for 2010-11 the total budget was reduced significantly.
