Founded in 1960, Laurentian a mid-sized bilingual university in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, [[Canada]]. While LU's focus is primarily on undergraduate programming, the university also features Canada's newest medical school — opened in 2005, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, in consortium with Laurentian and Lakehead University, offers a significant number of graduate-level degrees for medical students.
 
The university has strong ties with the mining industry, and is one of the few schools in Canada offering mining engineering courses.

Laurentian University (Université Laurentienne, LU) is the largest bilingual provider of distance education in Canada.

Founded in 1960, Laurentian a mid-sized bilingual university in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
