The Bavarian Virtual University, sometimes called the Virtual University of Bavaria (in Germany), has the true name Virtuelle Universität Bayern. It is also sometimes called the Virtuelle Hochschule Bayern, hence the abbreviation VHB.

The Bavarian Virtual University was founded in the year 1999 and launched its first programme in May 2000, today comprising nearly 30 courses. The VHB is a cooperation of Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulen). The VHB supplies grants and facilities for online courses and is ambitious to evaluate and improve its programme.

At the present time, all courses offered are in German, only students registered at Bavarian universities can apply and those participating ought to be supervised individually by tutors.

There does not appear to be a web site.
