A tuition-free online school, it is located in the US state of California. It serves students in five California counties. Parents or guardians serve as learning coaches, guiding students through home-based, fully online learning.
In 2009-2010, there were 152 students enrolled, 40% of whom were identified as "socionominally disadvantaged".
Opened in 2006, the school is operated by the Alpaugh Academies, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with the private Pearson Connections Academy. Connections Academy provides all course content; learning is provide through the Connexus proprietary learning system.
