DECTUG has been founded by the Rector of TUG as an experimental didactic unit for realisation of pilot - national and international - projects connected with utilisation of computer networks and multimedia technologies in distance education (DE). The institution’s main office is in Gdansk, Poland.

As mentioned in the university's rules (PDF), a full-time student is entitled to study free of charge if he/she succeeds, while part-time students pay the tuition and other fees over the term specified in the plan of studies.

Distance Education Centre

The Distance Education Centre (DECTUG) or Centrum Edukacji Niestacjonarnej at Gdansk University of Technology was considered one of the leading e-learning centers in Poland and was set up in 1996/1997, when it also began e-learning. DECTUG has been founded by the Rector of TUG as an experimental didactic unit for realisation of pilot - national and international - projects connected with utilisation of computer networks and multimedia technologies in distance education (DE).
