Strayer University Online (Strayer Online) offers online certificates and degrees to working professionals seeking flexible distance-learning programmes. Courses may be attended either synchronously or asynchronously (with synchronous courses offered mainly on evenings and weekends).

Strayer Online is a division of Strayer University, whose main campus is located in Washington DC, US. The private, for-profit Strayer has 36,000 students enrolled at 60 American campuses, all of whom are linked to a home campus for administrative purposes. Some attend classes on campus as well.

Founded in 1892, Strayer University is owned by Strayer Education Inc., an education services holding company. In 2007, Strayer served students in all 50 US states and more than 60 countries worldwide.
