Ashworth College offers more than 70 online distance education programmes. Formerly known as Ashworth University, it a for-profit, commercial entity.
"Ashworth College" as a brand represents the three schools formerly known as Professional Career Development Institute, Ashworth College and James Madison High School under one name.
As noted on its web site, Ashworth seeks to "teach... specialized knowledge and skills to people of all ages and backgrounds in the most convenient way possible". Course offerings are described as "self-guided independent study".

Ashworth advertises somewhat opaquely that students may:
- Graduate from most programs in as little as six months
- Earn your master’s degree in as little as one year
The University of Name's main office is in Georgia, US. Courses are available in both English and Spanish language.

College courses may be taken online (with some print-based textbooks and mail assignments). The online high school curriculum may be completed 100% online.
Courses are also available by corresponse, i.e. only through printed textbooks, lesson guides and study materials by mail.
