Queen's University (Queen's) supports "correspondence study" during most of each academic year through its Continuing and Distance Studies (CDS) division.
CDS, which is part of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s University, offers Arts and Science credit courses on campus in the Spring-Summer session and correspondence study in the Fall-Winter and Spring-Summer sessions. All courses offered through CDS count for degree credit in the same way as do the equivalent courses offered during the regular academic session in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Each year, over 4,000 full-time, part-time and visiting students from across Canada and the world are registered.
Some correspondence courses are primarily print based, while some are primarily online. Course materials may use WebCT, textbooks, custom courseware, and/or CD-ROM/DVDs.
Queen's University is located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Its predecessor, Queen's College, was founded by the Church of Scotland in 1841 - predating the founding of Canada itself.
