In the 1990s Deakin expanded its mandate to include the 'upgrading and retraining of people in the workforce' and to this end, maintains many educational relationships with corporations, government agencies and associations (via DeakinPrime).
Deakin has four campuses in Australia, and an office in Beijing, China.
