The Peoples Open Access Educational Initiative (Peoples-Uni) aims to provide an educational context to the use of OER for capacity building in Public Health. It offers enrolment in certificate, diploma and single course modules, using a volunteer business model supplemented by a fee of US$50 per course module. The first set of 6 course modules attracted 117 students, across 170 modules.
Peoples-uni was registered in January 2007 as an approved UK charity (# 1126265). It is coordinated by Professor Dick Heller.
