More details

In 2008, UMUC enrolled close to 60,000 active duty military, reserves, dependants and veterans, offering courses at 150 military installations and operating locations on seven continents.

UMUC offered its first distance education courses in 1972, and its first electronic courses in 1994. Today, more than 30% of students take classes purely online.

UMUC has received numerous awards for its web-based technologies and courses, including several from the Sloan Consortium.
