Sikkim is a landlocked state in the north-western, Himalayan region of India. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China to the north and east, West Bengal to the south, and Bhutan to the south east.
The 2011 census records a population of 6 million over 4 districts, the 28th most populous state in India. The state capital and largest city is Gangtok.
