Professor Daniel Peraya is a professor at TECFA, the Educational Technologies Unit of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. There he has taught since 1986 after leading the Centre for Audiovisual Teaching at the Ecole Normale Superieure de l'Université de Dakar in Senegal (1975-1985).

His research and teaching focus is on the educational use of communication media, particularly in the context of training systems wholly or partly at a distance.

He has coordinated the participation of TECFA to many European projects in the field of distance learning.

He is currently director of the Masters programme MALTT (Master of Science in Teaching and Learning Technologies, TECFA) and the Certificate of Continuing Education in the conception and development of projects in eLearning,

He is also an associate researcher at the Inter-University Centre on the Teaching Profession (CRIFPE, Quebec) and a researcher and member of the International Panel on Knowledge Mediation at the Catholic University of Louvain.
