Overview

Venezuela, officially called the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (Spanish: República Bolivariana de Venezuela), is a country on the northern coast of South America. Venezuela's territory covers around 916,445 square kilometres (353,841 sq mi), with an estimated population of approximately 28,946,101. The capital is Caracas.

Institutional OER initiatives

The Universidad Central de Venezuela and Universidad Simon Bolivar are fellow members of an international project called OportUnidad. Institutions from Latin America and the European Union participate in this project, which seeks to create a common ground in higher education by increasing the use of open educational resources (OERs) and practices (OEPs). OportUnidad started in January 2012 and ends in June 2014.
