Göran Karlsson received a PhD in Quantum Chemistry at University of Uppsala, Sweden in 1970. After working one year as Research associate at both the Dept. of Chemistry, Guleph University, Ont., Canada (1971) and at the Dept. of Theoretical Physics with Mechanics, University of Lund, Sweden (1972), he became Senior lecturer in the Department of Mechanics at the KTH, Sweden in 1973.
He worked as a senior lecturer Dept. of theoretical Physics in the University of Uppsala in Sweden from 1975-1979 and then became Director of the Center of Educational Development at KTH (1979-1983), which later changed to Director of studies at the Department of Mechanics, KTH (1984-1989).
In the past 15 years he has worked on several projects around flexible, distance and e-learning specifically for mechanics teaching, and has published many publications on the subject. His research and professional activities consist of e-learning, Distance Education, Accreditation of eLearning and Internationalization of Higher Education.
