Coleg Menai is a major college of further education in North West Wales. It is the centre of a learning community of over 10,000 students and serves its region and the wider world. As well as academic and vocational education and training, the college currently delivers higher education courses and international programmes to students from 27 countries.

The college is based in the University City of Bangor in Gwynedd, and at Llangefni on the Isle of Anglesey. All around it is outstanding land and seascape, with the mountains of Snowdonia and the sea close at hand. There are excellent transport links by road and rail to other parts of the UK, and to Ireland by ferry.

There are lifelong learning centres in Holyhead and Caernarfon, the latter opened in 2002 in an award winning building on the historic town square in view of the castle. As well as college centres, an extensive programme of lifelong learning courses takes place in schools and community buildings throughout the region.

Increasingly numbers of learners are taking part in open and distance learning programmes, exploiting the college’s excellent ICT facilities, including teleconferencing, fibre-optic internet links, virtual learning environment, and even a mobile IT training vehicle.

Over a hundred students from around the world are studying English at the college, as well as academic and vocational programmes, through Coleg Menai’s expanding international recruitment programme.

Its web site is http://www.menai.ac.uk (English and Welsh versions)
