Nick Jeans is an experienced basic skills teacher, teacher trainer and e-learning mentor. He is a member of JISC's Learning and Teaching Practice Experts Group and the Membership Services Committee of the Association for Learning Technology. He works on ALT-C's Programme Committee and has worked for the LSDA (now LSN) on their ELNET project and for Becta, helping teachers to use the National Learning Network's digital resources. He was involved in the Open-Source portfolio Initiative piloting e-portfolios and prior to joining Sero, he managed the Content Development Team in the South Yorkshire eLearning Programme working with teachers in schools and colleges to produce and use e-learning in all subjects.

Nick is Senior Consultant in Learning Technology at Sero Consulting Ltd, currently working on an EU-funded project called Making IT Personal – Joining the DOTs which makes use of volunteer trainers to improve the IT skills of people in South Yorkshire. He also works on projects with Sheffield College and a number of schools in South Yorkshire.


VISCED

For the VISCED project, Nick is focusing on Anglophone Africa (English-speaking Africa) and England, as well as two pilot projects in Sheffield, UK.
