Insight Schools is a private US company that operates a network of online high schools. It offers a proprietary curriculum, certified teachers and other services. Insight partners with a local school district per state, which then issues all diplomas upon graduation.
In February 2011, Kaplan Virtual Education - which provides online education for grades six through 12 - bought Insight Schools Inc. from University of Phoenix owner Apollo Group Inc. In May 2011 it was resold to private competitor K12 Inc, and is now part of the K12 Inc family of virtual schools.
