The South Carolina Virtual School Program (SCVSP) was piloted in 2006 by US state of South Carolina's Department of Education. It had 17,100 course enrollments in 2009-10.
Its goal is to provide rigorous online courses to help increase the on-time graduation rate throughout the state. SCVSP is a part-time supplemental programme that works with existing diploma-granting public, private and home schools.
