The Pre-University Programme (Guyana)

A distance learning programme which encompasses English Language and Mathematics. Of course, both these subjects are considered basic routes to the acquisition of knowledge and skills in a range of technical, vocational and academic subject areas in which the performance of a significant percentage of Guyanese students needs enhancing. The programme was originally intended to target secondary school leavers who have not mastered the requisite skills. However, in response to demands, the provider has adopted an open entry policy, which has resulted in participation also by adults who have not had exposure to studies at secondary level.
