Matti Sinko works for the UN Economic Council for Africa since 2010, before previously working in Africa. Until 2009, he worked as a development expert in Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) in its Lifelong Learning Institute Dipoli (TKK Dipoli). He has over 30 years of professional experience in education mainly in enhancing the use of ICTs in education. He has been a continuing education specialist, developer and designer of digital learning resources. He has also participated in policy making as a civil servant and consulted policymakers in many countries as well as international governmental and non-governmental organisations. He has also experience in evaluating impact of ICTs on education. He was the first director of the Finnish Virtual University development unit.
