The West African Distance Education Association (WADEA) is or was a distance education association for the countries of West Africa. It is difficult to locate basic information about this entity, e.g. whether it is still in operation.
As noted in a recent International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning essay:
- With COL Commonwealth of Learning’s assistance, the West Africa Distance Education Association (WADEA) was likewise inaugurated at [the National Teachers' Institute], Kaduna, Nigeria (COL, 1994).
In a 2004 OBHE survey of Regional and International Distance Learning Associations, it was cited as lacking a web presence, to be contacted care of the Institute of Adult Education, University of Ghana.
The WADEA web site is unknown, and may no longer exist.
