''Albert Sangrà'' is the Academic Director at the [[Universitat Oberta de Catalunya| Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC)]] and is responsible for the application of new technologies. He is also a senior consultant in various distance learning projects in Europe, America and Asia.
Full professor at the [[Universitat Oberta de Catalunya]] ([[UOC]]), where he has been director for Methodology and Educational Innovation (1995-2004), in charge of the educational model of the university. He is currently the academic director of the Official Master s Degree in Education and ICT (e-learning).
Albert Sangrà was born in Barcelona in 1960. He had got his first degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences (Pedagogy) with a major in Organisation and Educational Technology by the University of Barcelona (1986). He also got a Postgraduate degree in Applications of Information Technology in Open and Distance Education (1999) by the Open University (UK) and a Diploma on Strategic Use of ICT in Education by Harvard University (2000).
His main research interests are the use of ICT in education and training and quality in e-learning. He has played the role of consultant in several virtual training projects in Europe, America and Asia. He is currently member of the Executive Committee of the [[European Distance and E-learning Network]] (EDEN) and also member of the Advisory Board of the Portuguese [[Universidade Aberta]].
He has a wide experience in the world of education in [[Catalonia]], teaching at different levels of the Catalan education system (from primary school to university) participating also in different programs for the Catalan government in the educational field.
He got a Degree in Education at the Universitat de Barcelona, a Postgraduate Degree in Applications of Information Technology in ODE at The Open University of the UK and a Diploma on Strategic Use of IT in Education at Harvard University.
