The Ibero-American Association of Distance Education Universities (Asociación Iberoamericana de Educación Superior a Distancia, AIESAD) is a non-profit organization created at the First Iberoamerican Symposium Open University Presidents in meeting in Madrid, 1980. Its mission was and is to improve and expand Distance Education for the benefit of the peoples of Latin America.
