The University of Western Ontario (Western, UWO) supports online and distance learning in addition to traditional classroom courses. A Continuing Studies department specialises in adult learning.
Most distance courses entail use of email and WebCT, and course materials may be purely online. Students sit for exams at examination centres across Canada which are convenient to them.
UWO is a public research university located in London, Ontario, Canada. It is one of Canada's oldest universities, founded in 1878. It has roughly 25,000 undergraduates; 5,000 postgraduates; and over 1200 faculty members.
