Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) is one of the more progressive and innovative universities in the UK. Located at two campuses in the heart of Sheffield and its leafy suburbs it has just over 30,000 students. The Times Higher has recently reported that Sheffield Hallam University is placed first amongst English institutions in a new teaching quality league table.

It has a long history of e-learning, having set up a Virtual Campus in 1997.

Details

The SHU Virtual Learning Environment is called shuspace. It has the following features:

  • Blackboard module and organisation sites to support your learning
  • Library and information resources including the library catalogue and search facilities
  • FirstClass, the student email system (installed for the Virtual Campus in 1997)
  • My Student Record, for on-line management of your student record, including on-line enrolment, address details, module selection and results
  • Personal and group timetables
  • Further help and information about all aspects of being a student including news and events listings
